About the Role
We are looking for a Shipping Team Lead to join our rapidly growing venture-backed company. This role requires a leader who can maintain control of a fast-moving outbound shipping operation, ensure carrier and service level accuracy, drive scan compliance, resolve shipping exceptions quickly, and keep the team aligned around on-time departure and package traceability. You will be the first point of contact for cross-functional team leads at other Dandy locations. In the role, you will lead a team of 18+ Shipping associates, in a state of the art facility in Provo, Utah. You will be responsible for ensuring that incoming packages, pallets and materials are scanned, received, sorted, and brought to their designated areas. You will also be responsible for ensuring the shop floor is sufficiently stocked, and supplied with necessary production materials, as well as all outgoing materials and finished goods.
What You'll Do
Shipping Execution
  • Oversee the outbound shipping process, including receiving finished goods from Packaging,
    On-Time Shipping Performance
  • Monitor daily must-ship volume, urgent orders, late-risk shipments, and carrier cutoff times to ensure packages leave the facility on time.
    Exception Management
  • Investigate and resolve shipping exceptions, including missing packages, labels created but not physically received, wrong carrier or service level, return packages, failed scans, and shipments at risk of missing pickup.
    Traceability & Scan Compliance
  • Ensure all required scans are completed at each step of the process to maintain package visibility from Packaging to carrier pickup.
    Shift Passdown & Communication
  • Maintain strong communication between shifts and cross-functional teams by documenting open issues, pending shipments, carrier problems, and urgent follow-ups.
    Pickup Readiness
  • Ensure all bags, containers, and outgoing shipments are ready, organized, and staged before carrier pickup windows.

What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team in a fast-paced environment that is always changing
  • Passion for breaking down complex problems into smaller manageable steps in order to help team members effectively work through the ambiguity
  • High level of comfort with digital tools and technology
  • Very high attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Team player attitude and willingness to help others to help the team exceed expectations
  • Natural curiosity and ability to learn new concepts, tools, and workflows quickly
  • Strong self-motivation, self-direction, and ability to work with multiple stakeholders to push improvement initiatives to completion
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of how inventory counts work
  • Experience with WMS, ERP, and/or MES/MRP systems
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing practices, and inventory management
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Google sheets, or other spreadsheet software

  • Experience working with carriers such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, or other domestic shipping partners.
  • Experience managing carrier cutoff times, urgent shipments, and same-day shipping priorities.
  • Experience improving scan-based workflows, containerization, staging, and pickup processes.
