Job description

Position Summary:

The Shipping Associate/ and Class E Driver will be responsible for picking, assembling, loading all outbound sales orders, and driving a box Truck from our two plants. This position must be able to assemble sales orders in the most accurate, efficient, and safest manner possible. This position requires proficiency in driving all material handling equipment, and reports directly to the Shipping Manager.

As an employee, this individual must consistently demonstrate The Volpi Way fundamentals behaviors.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Pick and assemble outbound orders to be delivered to customers
Load trucks with finished orders in accurate manner
Maintain First In/First Out (FIFO) shipping and rotation of Finished Goods (FG) stock for storage
Inspect product and notify staff of quality or damage issues
Safely operate material handling equipment
Contribute ideas/suggestions to improve warehouse procedures
Perform cleaning and Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) tasks as directed
Complete other duties as assigned. Drive Box Truck

Candidate Qualifications:


Class E Driver License
A minimum of a High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalent is required.
Prior warehouse experience is preferred.
Proficient in the English language.
Strong math, reading, written and verbal skills. 
A minimum of one year experience driving material handling equipment such as stand-up forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
Prior experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) is preferred.
Time management and self-motivation is required. 

Class E Drivers License and able to drive a box truck.

Clean driving record

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
Must have the ability to make coordinated movement of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble large and small objects.
Must be able to stand for entire shifts with periodic, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting of up to 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
Must be able to safely walk and work around machinery and knives.
Must be able to wear a hairnet, latex gloves, hearing protection, as well as any other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Must be able to work in temperature-controlled environment at 32-40 degrees.

For internal employees:

Must perform all level functions at a satisfactory level for a minimum 90 days prior to advancement, have no disciplinary action, and must consistently demonstrate behavior aligned with the Volpi Way Fundamentals.
