Compensation: Starting at $18 per hour

Role Summary

The Shipping & Transportation Associate supports Higgins Group's Architectural & Millwork division by ensuring materials, components, and finished products are accurately staged, loaded, transported, and delivered to job sites and customers. This role operates primarily within the warehouse and requires safe operation of box trucks (16' and 24'). The position also provides support into assembly and production as business needs require.

Core Responsibilites

  • Prepare, stage, and load materials for outbound deliveries.
  • Verify shipments against packing lists, work orders, and delivery schedules.
  • Secure loads properly to prevent damage during transport.
  • Safely operate 16' and 24' trucks for local and regional deliveries.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of company vehicles.
  • Represent Higgins professionally at job sites and customer locations.
  • Assist with receiving incoming materials and verifying inventory.
  • Organize warehouse storage areas and maintain material flow.
  • Support inventory tracking and staging for production.
  • Assist with millwork and architectural assembly when production requires.
  • Support packaging, crating, and preparation of finished products.
  • Perform general shop and warehouse tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Experience driving 16'–24' box trucks (no CDL required).
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical warehouse work.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
