We are hiring two Specialist II's for a new 24/7/365 industrial security operations team. Each opening is tied to a specific shift, so please review the schedule information below before you apply.

There are two openings at this level, one on swing and one on nights. You will be hired into one specific shift, and you will be told exactly which hours and days it covers before you go any further in the process.

Every shift is four ten-hour days, forty hours a week, with three consecutive days off. Same days every week, and you do not rotate between shifts. Each shift includes a two-hour pass-down overlap with the shift next to yours, so you are never picking up a live incident cold or handing one off blind. This is not an on-call rotation. Coverage is handled by the schedule itself. Both Level II openings are off-hours coverage, so both include shift differential pay on top of base.

The INCS Support Specialist II provides advanced support for industrial control systems, networks, and associated infrastructure. You'll serve as the escalation point for Level 1, perform deeper troubleshooting and root cause analysis, and play an active role in system stability, standardization, and continuous improvement across INCS environments. On most shifts you are the senior technical person on the floor, which means real decision-making authority when something breaks at 3 AM.

Act as Tier 2 escalation support for INCS-related incidents and service requests

Serve as the senior technical resource on your shift, owning escalations from Level 1 through resolution or handoff

Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving industrial Ethernet networks (managed switches, VLANs, redundancy), PLC-to-PLC and PLC-to-HMI/SCADA communications

Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents and system failures

Support system upgrades, patching activities, and firmware updates under change management

Configure and maintain OT infrastructure including network switches, firewalls, servers, virtual machines, and backup and recovery solutions

Assist with vendor coordination and technical support engagements

Run a clean shift handoff, giving the incoming shift a full pass-down of open incidents, in-progress work, and anything worth watching

Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures

Mentor and provide technical guidance to Level 1 INCS Support Specialists

Contribute to OT cybersecurity initiatives, assessments, and remediation activities

Support incident response and recovery for OT-related security or availability events

Manage and maintain Vertech's managed services platform and infrastructure

Follow OT safety, cybersecurity, and compliance requirements at all times

Availability and commitment to work an assigned swing or night shift on an ongoing basis

Strong understanding of industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT) environments

Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA platforms

Industrial networking protocols including EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, Profinet, and OPC UA

Managed switches, firewalls, and industrial network segmentation

Windows Server environments and virtualization (VMware or Hyper-V preferred)

Working knowledge of OT cybersecurity principles, including network zoning and access control

Experience using monitoring, logging, and diagnostic tools in OT environments

Demonstrated experience handling escalated incidents and production-impacting issues

Confidence to make technical decisions within defined authority, including when you are the senior person on shift

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple incidents at once

Ability to mentor junior staff and share knowledge effectively

Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong customer service abilities

Attention to detail and accurate documentation habits

Able to work well in a team environment

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience. Relevant technical training or military experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

3 to 5 years of experience in technical support, helpdesk, or field service roles. Industrial, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure environment experience preferred.

One or more certifications preferred: CompTIA Network+ or Security+; Cisco CCNA; ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Fundamentals or Specialist; Microsoft or VMware server and virtualization certifications; Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or other ICS vendor certifications a plus.
