What is an OSS engineer?

An OSS (Operations Support Systems) Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining software and systems that support telecommunication networks. Their role often involves scripting, database management, and working with protocols like SNMP and REST APIs.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of an OSS engineer?

As an OSS Engineer, your daily responsibilities often include monitoring network health, responding to incidents, analyzing system performance, and implementing new features or integrations within the OSS platform. You may collaborate closely with network operations, software development, and IT infrastructure teams to address technical issues and optimize processes. Routine tasks also involve maintaining accurate system documentation, ensuring compliance with security standards, and participating in ongoing projects to enhance automation or service reliability.
