OSP Fiber Project Manager


Location: Bristol, TN → Roanoke, VA → Washington, DC (Travel Required)


Lead One of the Region's Largest Long-Haul Fiber Builds!

CableSouth Construction is seeking an experienced OSP Fiber Project Manager to oversee a multi-state long-haul fiber deployment from Bristol, TN through Roanoke, VA to Washington, DC. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing field operations, subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and client relationships while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

The ideal candidate has a proven background managing long-haul fiber construction projects, leading multiple field crews, and delivering high-volume underground and aerial OSP builds.


Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of long-haul fiber construction projects from kickoff through closeout.
  • Manage multiple field crews, subcontractors, and superintendents across several active work fronts.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, production goals, and resource planning.
  • Coordinate with customers, municipalities, utilities, permitting agencies, and inspectors.
  • Monitor project budgets, labor production, materials, and equipment utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and company quality requirements.
  • Resolve field issues quickly while minimizing schedule impacts.
  • Review construction documentation, fiber route plans, permits, and change orders.
  • Track KPIs, production metrics, and project reporting for executive leadership.
  • Conduct regular site visits throughout Tennessee, Virginia, and Washington, DC.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years managing OSP fiber construction projects.
  • Proven experience delivering long-haul fiber builds.
  • Experience leading multiple construction crews across large geographic regions.
  • Strong knowledge of underground and aerial fiber construction methods.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and direct field personnel.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, permit packages, and utility prints.
  • Strong scheduling and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Valid driver's license with ability to travel extensively.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Telecom contractor experience.
  • Experience with utility coordination and permitting.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • PMP certification (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera, Procore, or similar project management software.
