You'll oversee contractor performance, resolve field challenges, and drive multiple fiber construction projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. Working closely with cross-functional teams and contractor partners, you'll help keep projects moving from field readiness through closeout while ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency every step of the way.

  • Set clear expectations for contractors and subcontractors, holding teams accountable for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Track production, schedules, costs, risks, and field progress, and keep stakeholders informed with clear, timely updates.
  • Inspect active jobsites and ensure work meets OSHA, NESC, Lumos, and applicable construction standards.
  • Coordinate permitting, materials, utilities, municipalities, and other field dependencies that keep construction moving.
  • Resolve field roadblocks and community concerns quickly, professionally, and with sound judgment.
  • Partner across Engineering, Operations, Permitting, and Supply Chain to improve how Lumos plans, builds, and scales.

What You'll Bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in OSP construction, telecommunications engineering, network deployment, or related field operations.
  • Strong knowledge of aerial, underground, and buried fiber construction, including OSHA and NESC requirements.
  • Experience managing contractors and several active construction projects at the same time.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license and ability to travel throughout the market; company vehicle and mobile phone provided.

What Makes You a Great Fit:
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Direct experience with FTTH, fiber broadband, telecommunications, or utility construction.
  • Experience with Sitetracker, Smartsheet, or a similar construction or project-management platform.
  • Experience coordinating with municipalities and utilities while improving processes in a fast-moving build environment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent travel, walking, and standing at active construction sites in varying weather and on uneven terrain.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and appropriate safety footwear.
  • Regular use of computers and standard office equipment, along with the communication and judgment needed to inspect work and coordinate field activity.
