JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Construction Manager to join our team and oversee the installation of fiber optic networks in various locations. As an OSP construction manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, project managing, and supervising the construction activities of fiber optic cables, conduits, poles, splice cases, and other related equipment. You will also ensure that the projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. To be successful as an OSP Construction Manager, you should have a strong background in fiber optic network design and construction, as well as excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. You should also be familiar with the relevant codes, regulations, and industry's best practices. You will report to the VP of Construction and Engineering and work closely with Construction Coordinators, managers, engineers, technicians, contractors, and customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSStrategic Leadership & Oversight Manage the overall planning, execution, and successful completion of OSP fiber-optic network construction projects. Provide executive directions to ensure alignment with corporate objectives, customer requirements, and operational priorities. Lead construction teams with a focus on safety, quality, productivity, and financial accountability. Establish and communicate clear performance expectations while fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and professional growth.Project Management & Execution Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to define project scope, schedule, budget, and technical specifications. Monitor project progress, costs, and quality, implementing corrective actions to maintain targets. Supervise and mentor construction staff, inspectors, and contractors, providing guidance and coaching to achieve operational excellence. Conduct site visits, inspections, and audits to verify compliance with quality and safety standards.Stakeholder & Relationship Management Develop and maintain productive relationships with municipalities, counties, homeowner associations (HOAs), utility providers, and water districts. Serve as the executive liaison for local government entities and major project partners. Ensure all construction activities comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and local, state, and federal regulations.Talent Management & Organizational Development Recruit, hire, and train construction inspectors, coordinators, and other key staff. Address employee relations issues, including performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions, in a consistent and fair manner. Promote a positive and results-oriented work environment that attracts and retains top construction talent.Financial & Operational Performance Oversee project budgets, financial forecasts, and cost controls to ensure profitability and resource efficiency. Approve payroll, review timecards, and ensure accurate labor reporting. Evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and network deployment speed. Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, reports, records, and invoices.Continuous Improvement & Innovation Champion process improvements and innovation initiatives to optimize OSP construction workflows. Identify opportunities to improve scalability, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery across regions. Ensure that lessons learned are captured and applied to future projects.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervise one or more employees. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  

QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field. A minimum of fifteen years of progressive experience in OSP construction, fiber network deployment, including project oversight and field leadership.Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of fiber-optic network testing equipment, tools, and procedures.Familiarity with OSP construction standards, codes, regulations, and safety practices to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.Leadership & Communication: Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address project challenges effectively.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

PHYSICAL, FIELD, OR ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
