TEKsystems is seeking DS (Distribution Systems) Engineers to help support the NGG contract. These levels include DS (Distribution Systems) Engineer, DS (Distribution Systems) Engineer Senior, and DS (Distribution Systems) Engineer Advisor. HOW A DS (Distribution Systems) ENGINEER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Field Engineer provides technical expertise to modernize network design and implementation supporting multiple Air Force and Space Force bases globally. The Field Engineer will be the technical resources supporting the survey and implementation efforts. Works closely with the base's counterparts and facilitate the planning, execution, testing and sustainment of the wired functionality of the network.
Primary Responsibilities:
This position will perform the following duties:
• Execution - Coordinate with Government Points of Contact (POCs) to coordinate design, installation, base access, clearance, escorts, personnel and equipment to ensure project tasks can be completed on time.
• Stakeholder Communications – assist the PM with ensuring clear, consistent, timely and accurate communications are maintained with internal and external project stakeholders
• Technical support – provide input into the distribution systems design (ISP/OSP) and technical recommendations to the program and operation teams.
• Leadership – Lead small implementation teams or manage specific work scopes for a given AF/SF base.
Other tasks include:
• Provides technical, administrative, and operational management of assigned projects
• Develops technical project plans, proposals, reports, and task order and administrative reporting
• Perform detailed technical services on assigned tasks
• Conducts planning and provides recommendations on task workload
• Provides input into risk tracking process.
• Attends customer meetings and serves as primary network engineering liaison.
• Interacts with vendors, other agencies, and other client staff.
• Coordinates development of deliverables and products.
• Ensures quality assurance of project deliverables.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
• Participates in special projects as required.
• Reviews project requirements and develop strategies for future work.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to this position. Equivalent years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
● Required Experience:
• For JUNIOR level: 2+ years’ experience in various aspects of IT upgrade projects in the DoD environment.
• For SENIOR level: 5+ years’ experience in various aspects of IT upgrade projects in the DoD environment.
• For ADVISOR level: 8+ years’ experience in various aspects of IT upgrade projects in the DoD environment.
Technical Skills:
· Familiarity with distribution systems (ISP/OSP) design and Implementation documents such as – Site Survey Reports, Preliminary and Critical Design documentation, As-built diagrams, rack elevations and circuit connectivity matrices
· Familiar with all aspects of fiber testing
· Thorough understanding of Wired and general IT functions
Skills & Abilities:
· Ability to work effectively in a virtual teaming environment.
· Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, documents and governmental regulations
· Strong commitment to a team environment and the ability to work collaboratively
· Strong coordination and organizational skills

Aviano, Italy NGG modernizes existing DAF infrastructure to provide Zero Trust Capabilities. The NGG implementation must be capable of sustaining a throughput of 40Gb/s (threshold)/ 100Gb/s (objective) at the CEDCs and 10Gb/s (threshold)/ 40Gb/s (objective) at the base boundary (Main Operating Bases).
NGG Phase 1 is currently being deployed to 13 CEDCs. NGG Phase 2 will extend the rollout of a Zero Trust solution to all 187+ Main Operating Bases (MOBs), which include the 13+ CEDCs from Phase 1 and the 174+ base boundaries (Main Operating Bases). NGG Phase 2 will determine architecture, design, functionality, products, and integration services to deploy a suitable solution to a flexible infrastructure on both NIPRNet and SIPRNet sites. These solutions must be able to support integration with approved Cloud Service Providers. This includes integration with SaaS and Cloud ONE (Azure, AWS, GCP, and OCI) for UNCLASS (IL2 – IL5), and SECRET (IL6) through DoD approved connections.
