Responsibilities
Construction Safety Professional - Ogden, NY
HazTek is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Professional to support a large-scale commercial logistics facility in Ogden, NY. This is a long-term opportunity supporting a major ground-up construction project from site development through core & shell, interior fit-out, and project completion. The ideal candidate is a strong field presence who can effectively engage subcontractors, conduct safety inspections, and promote a proactive safety culture.
Responsibilities
  • Implement and enforce site-specific health and safety programs.
  • Conduct routine construction site inspections to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, and company safety policies.
  • Monitor high-risk construction activities and verify appropriate controls are in place.
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), permits, and other safety documentation.
  • Facilitate new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and participate in daily pre-task planning meetings.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, recommending corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, inspections, and reports.
  • Partner with project management and subcontractors to foster a strong safety culture across the jobsite.

Qualifications
  • OSHA 500 or CHST required
  • Experience supporting commercial construction projects required
  • Experience on large distribution, warehouse, or logistics facility projects is strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to address field personnel and subcontractors professionally
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment while managing multiple priorities
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred

    • Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts during the first month
