What can I do with an orthopedic RDA certification?

An orthopedic RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) certification qualifies you to assist with dental procedures related to the musculoskeletal system, including supporting orthodontic and oral surgery treatments. It enhances your skills in patient care, sterilization, and chairside assistance, often within dental or orthodontic offices. This certification can improve job prospects and may lead to specialized roles in orthodontics or oral surgery settings.

  • Placing and removing brackets, wires, bands, and appliances
  • Fabricating retainers, including pouring stone models and forming Essix retainers
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area following OSHA standards
  • Educating patients and parents about oral hygiene, appliance care, and post-treatment instructions
  • Charting accurately and maintaining patient records
  • Assisting with scheduling and general support for your teammates when needed
  • Following and completing daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and sterilization checklists

  • Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license in the state of Texas
  • Willingness to travel between some of our locations (38th Street, Avery Ranch, Lakeway, Liberty Hill, Bastrop) – travel reimbursement provided
  • A team-oriented mindset and a strong sense of responsibility

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Dolphin Imaging and Management software

Why Ortho 360?

Benefits include:

  • Paid time off and bereavement leave
  • Uniform allowance, travel/mileage reimbursement, and employee discounts
  • On-the-job training and opportunities for professional advancement
