Job Description

Orthopedic Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon — United Health Services in Binghamton, NY

United Health Services Hospitals is a family of health service organizations that exists to improve the health of the communities we serve by developing and maintaining a comprehensive and cost-effective health care system. A not-for-profit organization, located in the Southern Tier of Upstate New York with Primary and Specialty Care offices in many locations throughout Broome, Chenango, Delaware and Tioga counties.

We are seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Orthopedic Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon. The surgeon will focus on a high volume of both arthroscopic and open procedures, including complex reconstructions and joint replacements. This practice has a regional referral base with a large primary care network to support our specialists. UHS Orthopedics is focused on recruiting specialized surgeons due to the growing need of our aging community. Currently, our practice comprises a total joint surgeon, a hand surgeon, two sports medicine surgeons, a fellowship-trained trauma surgeon and two non-op sports medicine physicians. UHS Orthopedics is very supportive of the use of Advanced Practice Providers to maximize patient care and support our surgeons' needs.

Outstanding clinical and administrative support staff as well as excellent Physical Therapy support are provided in five different locations in our region.

LOCATION: Binghamton, NY is located 2.5 hours north of New York City and 1 hour from Syracuse, NY. A progressive college community town that offers a large healthcare presence, a safe living environment, and a diverse community with nearby lakes, ski resorts, golf courses, wineries, a symphony orchestra and an opera company.

The position includes a competitive starting salary of $685,000 to $965,000 plus a highly competitive sign-on bonus, annual bonus incentives, moving expenses, and a vast array of employment benefits including a robust retirement plan.

Formed in 1981 through the consolidation of three community hospitals, United Health Services Hospitals employs more than 6,000 people. As a teaching hospital, affiliated with the SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY and the Binghamton University Health Sciences Center, United Health Services Hospitals trains over 100 physicians per year in residency and fellowship programs.
