Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Orion Systems Engineer. Be a part of the Artemis and Orion teams taking astronauts to the Moon and beyond. As a Systems Engineer on the Orion program, you will provide direct support to active test operations, drive troubleshooting and discrepency resolution, and be responsible for hardware/software configuration and test readiness in the Orion Integrated Test Laboratory in support of Artemis III and future missions.
Summary of Key Duties for this position:
• Responsible for ensuring the Orion Integrated Test Labs is integrated, maintained and operational.
• The candidate ideally has a background in system and/or subsystem test and integration.
• Willing/able to support test shifts in the Orion Test Labs with evening and weekend shift assignments.
The Orion Integrated Test Laboratory (ITL) is a Dynamic High-Fidelity Test Environment that executes testing from Low-Level Component checkouts all the way to full Artemis Mission Simulations with Mission Control and Artemis Crew in the loop. Basic Qualifications
• B.S in Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic hands-on hardware and software testing and troubleshooting experience
• Willing to work extended hours, including 2nd shifts and weekends, in support of test activities
• US Citizen required to perform the task
Desired Skills
• Current or former Certified Test Conductor (CTC) with test engineering experience using Automation Framework
• Knowledge of the Orion spacecraft
• Understanding of automated test scripts and configuration management
• Experience with Software Test Tools and/or Data Loading of Hardware
• Experience with Python scripting and automation
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules
• Works effectively independently and as part of a team
Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
