As of Jun 23, 2026, the average hourly pay for organic farms in the United States is $18.98, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $17.31 and $20.43 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are some common challenges faced by workers on organic farms, and how can they be addressed?

Workers on organic farms often encounter challenges such as managing pests and diseases without synthetic chemicals, adapting to physically demanding tasks, and working in varying weather conditions. To address these, organic farms typically rely on teamwork, ongoing training in sustainable farming techniques, and strong communication among team members. Many farms also rotate tasks to reduce fatigue and foster skill development, while providing resources and equipment to promote a safe and supportive work environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Organic Farmer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Organic Farmer, you need knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices, crop rotation, soil health, and often a background in agricultural science or related experience. Familiarity with organic certification standards, farm management software, and equipment for planting and harvesting is typically necessary. Strong problem-solving, adaptability, and communication skills help farmers manage unpredictable conditions and coordinate with workers or buyers. These competencies are crucial for maintaining organic compliance, maximizing yield, and ensuring the farm's long-term success.

What are organic farms?

Organic farms are agricultural operations that grow crops or raise livestock without the use of synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), or antibiotics and growth hormones in animals. Instead, they rely on natural processes and materials, such as composting, crop rotation, and biological pest control, to maintain soil health and ecological balance. Organic farming aims to promote environmental sustainability, animal welfare, and the production of healthy, natural food. These farms must adhere to strict certification standards to be labeled as organic.

READY TO GROW-IN YOUR CAREER AND IN THE FOOD MOVEMENT?

Do you believe food is medicine? That healthy food should be accessible, sustainable, and as local as possible? Are you ready to build a meaningful career while making a real impact? And get paid well to do it?

Farm Fresh To You, the West's leading farm-to-door delivery service, is seeking high-energy, growth-oriented individuals to join our Direct Sales Team as Farm Ambassadors. Nutrition and wellness advocates remind our communities that food doesn't grow on shelves.

This isn't your average sales job. It's an opportunity to learn a lifelong skillset, develop professionally, and be mentored by a team of high-performing peers. We're looking for candidates with a yes mindset, who take pride in their work, love a good challenge, and know that team culture is built by a team of passionate individuals who do their part each day to reach a collective goal.

ABOUT US

Farm Fresh To You, powered by our family-run farm, Capay Organic, connects households directly to sustainable, organic farms throughout the West. Since 1992, we've made it our mission to revolutionize the way people eat-one doorstep at a time.

Our direct sales team is the heartbeat of that mission. We meet people face-to-face, share our passion, and help them take that first step toward better food and a better future.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Farm Fresh To You Ambassador, you'll:

  • Engage with members of your community through door-to-door sales and local events
  • Educate and inspire people about sustainable agriculture and healthy living
  • Build meaningful customer relationships and represent a brand with deep roots in Organic farming's legacy
  • Develop a rock-solid sales foundation and grow your income through performance

WHO THRIVES IN THIS ROLE

We're not looking for perfect resumes - we're looking for coachable, motivated, and positive individuals who are hungry to learn and ready to contribute.

You'll do well here if:

  • You bring energy, resilience, and a growth mindset to everything you do
  • You thrive in dynamic environments where no two days look the same
  • You understand that success is earned, not handed out
  • You work well both independently and within a team
  • You're seeking a career that aligns with your values, not just a paycheck
  • You are looking for full-time work within a strong team culture

ASK YOURSELF:

  • Am I ready to build a career that rewards hard work and consistency?
  • Can I bring energy to a team and hold myself accountable?
  • Am I excited to be part of a company that's changing the food system?
  • Am I looking for a role where earning potential is directly tied to my effort?
  • Do I enjoy being outdoors and talking to people from all walks of life?

If you answered yes, this might be your calling.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Full-time availability (we do not offer introductory part-time roles)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Coachability and a strong desire to grow
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality
  • Comfortable with walking, standing, and working outdoors for several hours

BONUS IF YOU HAVE:

  • Experience in sales, outreach, education, or wellness
  • A 4-year degree or professional certification
  • Familiarity with food systems, sustainability, or nutrition

WHAT YOU GET

  • Uncapped earning potential - top reps average $40/hr+
  • Full benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, Life and 401(k)
  • 40% employee discount on all organic produce and artisan goods
  • Growth track - advancement potential within 90 days
  • Opportunity for growth into leadership and mentorship roles
  • Supportive, value-driven team culture
  • Comprehensive training program focused on mindset, communication, and results
  • A meaningful, mission-driven career-not just a job
