$21.30 per hour, plus $1 for 2nd shift, paid weekly!

Sundays and ability to work mandated overtime are required

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is responsible to complete orders by selecting products from the warehouse racks and to assemble, palletize and/or shrink wrap products/pallets for customer orders. An Order Selector may be required to use a variety of powered industrial equipment and may be required to work in dry or cooled product areas including refrigerated and freezer compartments.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Locate and lift cases, boxes, bags, and/or pallets of dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, poultry, fish, beef, pork and related products in specific quantities for delivery to customers by using order sheets or an audio headset.

Operate powered industrial equipment (e.g. single and double pallet jacks).

Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including conducting inspections of powered industrial equipment using a safety checklist.

Report damaged products, quality issues, and out-of-stock/low volume products.

Utilize proper wrapping techniques to ensure safety of product to prevent damages.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Prior order selecting experience preferred.

Prior experience operating power industrial equipment preferred.

Must perform assigned tasks accurately while meeting production standards in a fast-paced warehouse operation.

Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures.

Ability to work in multi-temperature areas as assigned (e.g. freezer, coolers, dry conditions).

Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Constant lifting of cases of products weighing between 4.5 to 100 lbs. The cases are located on pallets on the floor and on racks and are lifted from various heights ranging from 4 inches to 97 inches from the floor. The employee can use a pick tool for assistance with cases on pallets and racks. The cases are carried 5 feet to pallets on the double jack which ranges in height from 9 inches to 77 inches. The General Warehouse employee can handle 160-200 cases per hour.

  • Constant pushing and pulling of cases utilizing upper body forces with a force of 50 lbs. along the surface of the pallets to either retrieve or position products located on the pallets. The position requires occasionally ascending and descending a step with a height of 19 inches to enter and operate the pallet jack. The space for standing in the pallet jack has a height of 38 inches and a width of 24 inches.

  • Occasionally entering a space with limited headroom at a height of 46 to 49 inches from the floor to retrieve cases. The position requires constant dynamic forward bending postures to a height of 12 inches and a depth of 12 inches from the chest while holding a 2-lbs. pick tool to retrieve cases.

Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-12 hours shift as assigned. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
