Job description

Tier 1 Logistics Customer Service Representative

The Tier 1 Logistics Customer Service Representative is responsible for ensuring customer needs are fulfilled by organizing shipments, arranging pickups and deliveries, handling inventory-related inquiries, and supporting day-to-day order processing. This position also coordinates with transportation providers to schedule loads and maintains accurate inventory records in both internal and customer systems according to established procedures.

Reports To: Tier 3 Lead Logistics Customer Service Representative

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with team members and supervisors to receive direction and coordinate daily tasks
  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including multi-line phone systems and customer email responses in a timely manner
  • Keep the workspace clean, organized, and professional at all times
  • Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for operational tasks
  • Arrange and track shipments to meet customer expectations
  • Accurately input order details into company systems within required timelines
  • Inform customers of any scheduling or shipment issues and provide updates as needed
  • Follow established procedures related to shipping and inventory depletion
  • Work with customers to understand their logistics needs and suggest effective solutions
  • Assist with and monitor Advance Shipping Notifications (ASN) as necessary
  • Partner with warehouse personnel to process orders and meet customer requirements
  • Prepare Bills of Lading detailing shipment contents, quantities, and destinations
  • Use customer portals to input and monitor shipping and operational information
  • Create and manage orders for warehouse fulfillment
  • Coordinate with carriers to arrange appointments and provide load status updates
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic mathematical and counting abilities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Proficiency with computers, including email and basic Excel usage
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong multitasking skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily office-based work, seated at a desk for extended periods
