Position Summary

Pulls merchandise from stock for high-volume business delivery orders. Loads items on pallets and pulls with manual or electric pallet jack. Boxes small cooler and freezer items in milk crates. Operates a pallet jack to load delivery trucks. Provides high level member service. Provides a high level of member service.

Job Duties

  • Lifts pallet from low stack and sets on floor. Engages pallet with manual or electric pallet jack. 
  • Observes safety and security procedures, such as performing daily safety checklist for electric pallet jacks prior to use, checking manual pallet jacks and pallets, and tagging any with defects, while using proper lifting technique.
  • Obtains pick label (list of number and location of items to pull for an order) from control desk and scans to initiate pick.
  • Operates pallet jack/EPJ to move pallets through the warehouse, selects items from floor stock to assemble orders. Checks each pull to ensure correct item and quantity using the WM scanning system, and ensures that all items are in good condition.
  • Enlists forklift drivers to drop full pallets from steel shelves for large quantity item orders. Spots for forklift drivers to keep people out of the fall-danger zone.
  • Scans items and enters notes for any approved substitutions and out of stock items. Lists short items through wrist scanner. Follows proper departmental procedures for paperwork and performance of duties.
  • Checks the computer to research any items not found. Transfers completed order to dock area. Places pick stickers on top of pallets for loaders. Maximizes efficiency of picking based on number of items pulled, use of pre-pickers and base-pickers, and store productivity goals.
  • Operates a pallet jack to move completed orders into trucks for delivery.
  • Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.
  • Assists with department duties as necessary.
  • Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
