Job Title: Overnight Order Picker
Location: Chelsea, MA
Schedule: Overnight Shift (Full-Time)
Position Summary:
The Overnight Order Picker is responsible for accurately selecting, handling, and staging food products in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role requires working in cold storage conditions while maintaining high productivity, safety, and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable performing physical work for extended periods.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately pick customer orders using RF scanner technology and pick tickets
  • Follow instructions from RF system to ensure correct item selection and quantities
  • Build stable, well-organized pallets according to warehouse standards
  • Maintain productivity goals (target: 100 cases per hour by 90 days)
  • Safely operate electric pallet jacks (rider or walk-behind)
  • Transport and stage completed pallets in designated loading areas
  • Inspect products for quality and report any damages or discrepancies
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety and food safety regulations
  • Follow all company policies, including HACCP, SQF, and OSHA standards
  • Perform routine equipment checks and report any issues immediately
  • Minimize idle time and remain productive throughout the shift
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends as needed
  • Must be able to stand and walk for 8+ hours per shift
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 60 lbs consistently
  • Comfortable working in cold environments (36°F and below, including freezer conditions)
  • Ability to bend, twist, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Basic understanding of warehouse operations and safety procedures
  • Ability to read and follow instructions using RF scanners or pick slips
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Experience:
  • Previous warehouse, distribution, or food handling experience
  • Experience operating electric pallet jacks (EPJ), rider jacks, or walk-behind jacks
  • Familiarity with RF scanners and warehouse management systems
Work Environment:
  • Cold storage warehouse (refrigerated and freezer areas)
  • Fast-paced, physically demanding environment
  • Requires consistent movement, lifting, and handling of products
