Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Identifies and submits suggestions to improve efficiencies, quality and safety.
  • Actively participates in root cause analysis and other plant continuous improvement initiatives. Recommends continuous improvement ideas.
  • Complies with safety requirements, GMP requirements, and SOPs/WIs for work area.

Order Picking and Packing:

  • Accurately picks customer orders within computerized Pick-to-Voice system, or manually, and assures that the quality and quantities are correct prior to shipping.
  • Assembles cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
  • Inserts items into containers, using the appropriate packing material base for bottle type and order size, to ensure delivery of products to customers without damage or errors.
  • Stores articles in bins, on pallets, on shelves, or in racks according to identifying information such as product number, size or type of product.
  • Uses hand truck to move shipments from upper mezzanine packing/staging area to shipping dock.
  • Manually picks orders utilizing an RF scanner, voice picking equipment and/or an order picker/forklift.
  • When packing, uses a computer to verify and update shipping information and print shipping labels.

Other Areas of Order Fulfillment:

  • Receives products and matches to purchase order.
  • Manually verifies products (i.e. picked in right location, correct orders picked) for customer orders.
  • Inducts and verifies orders with the sequential number from the third party picking system.
  • Invoices the correct orders and verifies the correct shipping address and correct delivery ID.
  • Verifies manually the inventory control counts of items in a particular location. Compares the counts to Oracle amounts to verify accuracy.
  • Prepares orders for LTL shipment on the dock.
  • Processes international orders according to customer profiles.
  • Voice picks and labels appropriate items with prop 65 stickers.
  • Processes Amazon orders utilizing an RF scanner and appropriate labeling of product.
  • Receives and scans incoming finished goods utilizing an RF scanner and appropriately marks product.
  • Replenishment from staging area on 3rd floor to primary picking location.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Strong performance as an OF Utility I AND demonstrated ability through certification to Pick AND Pack areas in both NOW and Lucky areas AND ability to perform additional functions in both NOW and Lucky areas, including all of the following: (1) Inducting (2) Manual verification; (3) Invoicing; (4) Returns processing; (5) Processing International orders.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is occasionally required to operate a hand truck or pallet jack. When packing, employee is required to use a computer.

The employee must regularly lift, move (in some cases drag items), slide, raise and/or place:

  • Disposes of empty boxes into overheard conveyor by repeated reaching overhead.
  • Moves pallets by raising and/or dragging 55 lbs. from floor onto one side, moves 10 feet and returns to original position.
  • Picks product by lifting up to 38 lbs. from floor to 32 inches; lifting 25 lbs. to 32 inches; and lifting 12 lbs. from 63 inches to 32 inches.
  • Palletizes boxes by lifting up to 38 lbs. from 33 inches to 5 inches; lifting 25 lbs. from 33 inches to waist; and lifting 12 lbs. from 33 inches to 68 inches.
  • Moves pallet jacks by pushing and pulling with force of 42 lbs. from 36 inch height.
