Reports To: Order Fulfillment Supervisor

Location: Chicago (Addison), IL


Job Summary

The Order Fulfillment Associate is responsible for the fast, accurate, and physically demanding process of fulfilling customer orders at the BuyWander warehouse. This role involves continuous, rapid movement throughout the warehouse and quickly running orders out for customer pickup. This is a highly physical, full-time position requiring the ability to move quickly and efficiently all day.


Responsibilities

This role demands high energy and constant motion. The core responsibilities focus on speed and accuracy.

High-Speed Order Running (Customer Carryout):

  • Quickly claim, grab, verify, and deliver customer orders.
  • Assist customers with carrying orders to their vehicles at a fast pace.
  • Ensure that every item is accurately scanned out before leaving the building.

Customer Service:

  • Provide service with a smile, greeting customers and thanking them for their patronage.
  • Maintain a clean and organized fulfillment area.
  • Answer customer questions and direct advanced inquiries to a supervisor.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced or physically demanding environment is preferred but not required.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Proven ability to move quickly and sustain high-energy work throughout the entire shift.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to order accuracy.
  • Ability to operate a smartphone and Bluetooth scanner.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.

Physical Requirements

This role involves sustained physical activity throughout the shift. The following are bona fide requirements of the position:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and run for extended periods throughout the shift with minimal breaks.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead frequently.
  • Ability to work at a very fast pace in a goal-driven environment.
  • Position requires seeing, hearing, use of hands and fingers, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities.
  • Must be able to communicate with others including talking, hearing, and listening and exchanging communication.
  • This position requires working both indoors and outdoors as business needs require. Employees may be exposed to a variety of weather and environmental conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, snow, humidity, and varying temperatures. Employees are expected to work safely in these conditions while following all company safety policies, using appropriate protective equipment, and taking reasonable precautions to prevent heat or cold related illness.
