Job Summary:
The Warehouse Associate position is the starting point for the customer experience. This key role will receive shipments from various carriers, log them into our system, and process and inspect the shipments in accordance with Uppership guidelines. Shipments will then be prepared for export, again according to Uppership guidelines. Sorting, stacking, and inventory control are also key components of this role. Ability to handle basic calls or emails from internal or external customers on occasion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Punctuality and excellent attendance are important
  • Ability to lift 70lbs, ability to maneuver up to 150 with assistance
  • Basic understanding of scanning, scanners, and scanning techniques.
  • Have a working and professional relationship with management and other divisions.
  • Maintain/submit special logs, reports, and records as requested.
  • Handle service concerns diplomatically, channeling complaints to other appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Determine and secure paperwork required for all international moves, including (but not limited to) commercial invoices, special customs paperwork, etc.
  • Work whatever hours are required to problem solve
  • Perform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Warehouse Operations and/or Customer care department.
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Minimum of 2 years working with Microsoft Office and other transportation field software programs – both industry-based and proprietary.
  • Able to work weekends, holidays, and/or extended hours when required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume Export department for an air freight forwarder.
  • More than 2 years of experience servicing customers in the transportation/logistics industry.
  • Good basic math skills.
  • Ability to work successfully alone at times
