ChristianaCare Hospital Dentistry Clinic is looking for a Dental Assistant II.
ChristianaCare Hospital Dentistry Clinic is located in Wilmington, Delaware. For more than 60 years, the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Hospital Dentistry has provided high‑quality, low‑cost dental care to uninsured and underinsured members of the community. Services are delivered by dental residents who have completed dental school and are pursuing an additional year of hospital-based training. Care is closely supervised by dedicated volunteer community dentists and experienced faculty members.

The Dental Assistant II supports dental and oral surgery care for patients of all ages under the supervision of the Dental Supervisor and Dentist, performing clinical, radiographic, laboratory, and administrative duties to ensure efficient, high-quality care.
Work Schedule:

Duties / Responsibilities:
The Dental Assistant II supports dental and oral surgery clinics by preparing patients, sterilizing instruments, assisting chairside, and reinforcing post-procedure care while maintaining strict infection control standards. They also provide lab and radiology support, including impressions and dental imaging, and handle clerical tasks such as scheduling, records management, and billing, while delivering strong communication and customer service.
Position Qualifications:

A graduate of accredited Dental Assistant program.

Dental Radiology Technicians certified by the Delaware Office of Radiation Control.

One-year previous work-related experience.

Current BLS certification

A successful Dental Assistant has strong knowledge of dental techniques, instruments, materials, and radiologic procedures, along with proficiency in sterilization and infection control. They demonstrate excellent manual dexterity, skill in four-handed dentistry, oral surgery support, impressions, and dental X-rays, including assisting with sedation or anesthesia. Strong communication, patient support, confidentiality, and safe equipment use are essential.
