Job Summary:
Omega Solutions, Inc. is a company seeking an Oracle Production Support Engineer. The role involves maintaining and enhancing database structures, performance tuning, and providing support for application processes in a production environment.
Responsibilities:
• Creating primary database storage structures, designing and creating primary objects, modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance, creating documentation, designing interfaces, database objects, and creating plans.
• Build, maintain, and enhance all objects packages/functions in PL/SQL to support application process.
• Strong understanding in database Performance Troubleshooting/Tuning, be skillful in SQL execution plan, AWR, ADDM, ASH etc reports.
• Perform functions including SQL tuning, database application design, and developer support.
• Monitor and optimize performance of the database, plan for backup and recovery of the database, and allocate system storage, plan future needs.
• Ability to quickly diagnose the problem areas and come up with solutions and/or workarounds.
• Create database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments.
• Experience in Unix/Linux Shell and Python scripting mandatory.
• Will be working on Production support, Releases for applications on a day to day basis.
Qualifications:
Required:
• At least 4+ years of experience as a Production Support Engineer.
• Experience as a DB Admin (Oracle / other RDBMS).
• Proficient with Oracle PL/SQL.
• Experience with Oracle 10/11g, including designing tables, stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions.
• Experience with performance tuning.
• Experience creating primary database storage structures.
• Experience designing and creating primary objects.
• Experience modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance.
• Experience creating documentation.
• Experience designing interfaces and database objects.
• Experience creating plans.
• Experience building, maintaining, and enhancing all objects packages/functions in PL/SQL to support application process.
