McKesson Pharmacy Systems (MPS) is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Data Insights team. In this role, you will build and support scalable data solutions that power reporting, analytics, business intelligence, and data-driven decision making across the organization.

You will work with modern cloud data technologies including Snowflake, SQL, Matillion, and Azure to develop data pipelines, optimize data warehouse performance, and ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality data products. This role partners closely with engineers, architects, product teams, analysts, and business stakeholders to transform data into actionable insights. This team is open to considering qualified applicants outside of Irving, TX.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and support scalable data warehouse solutions and data pipelines using Snowflake and Matillion.
  • Develop SQL-based transformations, data models, and integrations that power reporting, analytics, and business intelligence solutions.
  • Integrate data from Oracle and other enterprise systems while ensuring data quality, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Optimize data warehouse performance through query tuning, efficient data architecture, and platform best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline, production, and warehouse issues to support business-critical operations.
  • Support modern development practices, including source control, CI/CD, code reviews, testing, and production deployments.
  • Partner with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver well-documented data solutions that drive actionable insights.

Basic Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience with typically 4+ years of relevant professional experience, consistent with a P3 professional-level position

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Warehousing, or a related technical field.
  • Strong SQL development experience, including complex queries, transformations, joins, and performance optimization.
  • Experience building and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse platform.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and data quality practices.
  • Experience using Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with Snowflake, Matillion, Oracle, Azure, and Change Data Capture (CDC) technologies such as Qlik Replicate.
  • Familiarity with Looker, Power BI, Tableau, dimensional modeling, analytics engineering, AI/ML technologies, and translating business requirements into scalable data solutions.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

This role is a hybrid position. The selected candidate is expected to work on-site at our Las Colinas office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. Specific in-office days may be designated based on team needs and business priorities.
