What is an Oracle Session Border Controller?

An Oracle Session Border Controller (SBC) is a network device or software solution that manages and secures real-time communication sessions, such as voice and video calls, across IP networks. It acts as a gatekeeper between different networks, providing security, interoperability, and quality of service for VoIP and unified communications. Oracle SBCs are widely used by service providers and enterprises to protect their communications infrastructure from threats, enforce policies, and ensure reliable connectivity between different network segments, including SIP trunking and cloud communications platforms.
