ROLE_DESCRIPTION -
Technical Skills Database Administration:
• Install, build, and configure Oracle server software and related products.
• Maintenance, Patching and Upgrade of oracle databases.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as RAC, Data Guard, ACFS.
• Configure and manage backups for database using RMAN and Cohesity
• Perform RMAN and logical(data pump) backup and restore
• Provision, configure and manage database clones for in Cohesity
• Interact with Oracle Corporation for technical support when necessary
• Setup and maintain documentation and standards i.e. SOP's
Performance Tuning and Optimization:
• Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks.
• Optimize queries, indexes, and database configurations.
• Analyze and improve database storage and I/O performance.
Backup and Recovery:
• Implement and manage database backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, datapump and Cohesity
• Conduct regular backups and test restore processes to ensure data integrity.
Security and Compliance:
• Manage user access, roles and permissions.
• Ensure databases comply with security standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Perform audit duties like Unified auditing and apply security patches.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
• Use monitoring tools to track database health, performance, and capacity.
• Diagnose and resolve database errors and performance issues.
• Maintain and manage DPA and dashboards like OEM, SolarWinds, New Relic.
Collaboration and Support:
• Work closely with application developers to support database requirements.
• Provide technical support for oracle databases.
• Provide 24/7 and on-call rotations for after-hours support.
AWS cloud support:
• Install, build, and configure Oracle server software and related products in EC2 instance using terraform
• Perform migration of database from on-premises to AWS cloud.
Documentation and Reporting:
