Oracle Database Administrator (DBA), TS/SCI with a CI Polygraph Security Clearance Required, Chantilly, VA
The Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) will apply advanced knowledge of computer science concepts and database management techniques to support complex data acquisition, storage, and retrieval solutions. This Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) role involves the design, installation, maintenance, and optimization of mission-critical relational databases to support engineering, scientific, or business operations within the Intelligence Community. The Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) position requires active collaboration with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting database issues, and ensuring database security, performance, and reliability. The qualified Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) must have an active TS/SCI with a CI Polygraph security clearance. This position is 100% Onsite.
Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) Responsibilities:
- Operational Support: Lead the development and enforcement of database operational standards and procedures to support mission-critical operations.
- DBA Expertise: Leverage Oracle RAC and Data Guard expertise in installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization in production environments.
- Issue Resolution: Apply advanced analytical methods and database research techniques to identify, investigate, and resolve complex system issues.
- Documentation: Prepare, update, and maintain accurate and current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for database operations.
- Team Coordination: Manage team schedules, including on-call rotations and project timelines, while monitoring team performance and mentoring junior team members.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with security protocols, training, and timekeeping requirements, as mandated by government customers.
Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience, particularly with Oracle 11g or 12c environments, including RAC, ASM, GoldenGate, Data Guard, RMAN, patching, and security.
- Experience with Apache, WebLogic, and PHP for managing Database-Driven Application Web Portals in production environments.
- Proficiency in database tuning, monitoring, and ensuring effective and efficient data access, including memory configuration, disk I/O optimization, and application performance tuning.
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain public synonyms, database links, and user access controls.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize, balance, and lead complex projects.
- Proven ability to manage phases or segments of larger projects and mentor team members in achieving program objectives.
- Must have an active TS/SCI with a CI Polygraph government security clearance.
Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Oracle Cloud (public or private) environments.
- Hands-on experience upgrading Oracle RDBMS from 11g/12c to 19c and familiarity with database containerization.
- Prior exposure to Oracle Engineered Systems like Exadata and Sun Super Cluster.
- Familiarity with IC-specific security protocols and database auditing requirements.
