Job description

Virgin Galactic is seeking an experienced Oracle Techno-Functional Architect, E-Business Suite to join our Enterprise Applications group. Reporting to the Director of Oracle Applications, this role will provide technical leadership, solution design expertise, and hands-on guidance for our Oracle ERP platform across key business domains including Finance, Supply Chain, Inventory and Warehouse, Manufacturing, and Production Planning. Support the company strategy by holding ourselves and one another accountable for getting the work done.
The Oracle Techno-Functional Architect will drive end-to-end solution delivery, ensuring enhancements, integrations, modernization strategies and initiatives meet business requirements, align with established standards, and follow best practices. This role is accountable for delivering high-quality technical solutions that optimize business processes, enable new capabilities, improve operational efficiency, and support revenue growth.
Operating as a hands-on leader, , the Oracle Techno-Functional Architect will oversee technical design, guide development activities, and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable within a complex enterprise landscape.
Working closely with Enterprise Architects, developers, analysts, and business stakeholders, this role requires strong communication skills, the ability to lead cross-functional efforts as a trusted technical advisor, and the capability to influence decision-making across technical and business teams.
Responsibilities
  • Develop a strong understanding of current-state business processes and EBS system capabilities across Finance, Supply Chain, Inventory & Warehouse, Manufacturing, and Production Planning.
  • Lead the technical design of EBS upgrades, enhancements, integrations, extensions, and customizations, ensuring alignment with business needs and architectural standards.
  • Lead and support ERP modernization strategies, including upgrades of existing Oracle E-Business Suite environments and the assessment of on-premise versus Oracle Cloud ERP (Fusion) options
  • Conduct gap analysis and translate requirements into detailed technical specifications and solution designs.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across the full solution lifecycle: design, development, configuration, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Guide and mentor technical teams, ensuring high-quality delivery, code standards, and adherence to best practices.
  • Define and maintain integration patterns between Oracle ERP, PLM, and other enterprise systems, ensuring data quality, consistency, and scalability.
  • Evaluate and recommend technical tools and technologies to enhance system performance, data visibility, and user experience.
  • Establish and track KPIs for system performance, stability, and delivery quality; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business SMEs, analysts, and Enterprise Architects to ensure cohesive, cross-functional solution delivery.
  • Lead and support effort estimation, resource planning, and cost analysis for technical workstreams.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, development methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively to achieve goals and/or complete assigned tasks.
  • As a technical leader, coach, train, and transfer expertise to teammates to drive projects to completion.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 15 years of ERP experience, including technical design, development, or lead roles; or a master's degree with 12 years of experience.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale Oracle E-Business Suite implementations or enhancements, with strong preference for Finance module expertise.
  • Experience supporting or leading EBS modernization initiatives such as upgrades, re-architecture, or Oracle Cloud ERP evaluations.

Technical Expertise
  • Advanced proficiency in PL/SQL, SQL, OAF, APEX, Workflow, BI Publisher, Oracle Forms/Reports, and EBS R12 technical architecture.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) including orchestration, mappings, adapters, and REST/SOAP connectivity.
  • Deep understanding of REST APIs, SOAP services, XML, JSON, SOA patterns, and secure integration design.
  • Familiarity with concurrent program design, personalization frameworks, and EBS extension models.
  • Experience with EBS data models, performance tuning, and debugging complex customizations.
  • Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, Git repositories, automated deployment tools, and secure coding principles.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or Microsoft Azure is a plus.

Business & Domain Knowledge
  • Deep understanding of ERP business processes, especially within Finance and core operational functions.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in complex manufacturing or high-technology environments.
  • Aerospace & Defense experience is a plus.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate functional needs into technical solutions.

Leadership & Delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and drive cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience with solution governance, estimation, and delivery planning.
  • Ability to mentor team members and support technical decision-making.

The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $164,528.00-$253,425.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
