Design, implement and provide operational support for SAP SQL and Oracle databases in an enterprise environment. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 R2 database administration 

Designing and Implement high availability database solutions and database recovery solutions using SQL database clustering, Log-shipping, replication, and back-up and restore technologies. 

Provide support for Global Operations (24X7) 

Stored procedure & trigger development, DTS package/SISS development, and database security 

Network communications, server hardware configuration, and database server operational support and maintenance processes and procedures 



KEY COMEPENTENCIES: 

Strong understanding and experience in relational database design and administration. 

Knowledge and experience with SQL database performance tuning methods 

Knowledge and experience with Perfmon, SQL DMVs and SQL profiler 

Knowledge and experience using Litespeed is a plus 

Knowledge with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 

Experience with z administration and operational support preferred 

Knowledge of database clustering technologies and alternative disk storage solutions an advantage 

Ability to demonstrate excellent problem solving and root cause analysis skills 

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Capability to demonstrate excellent leadership and team skills 

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 

Ability to write correspondence. 

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 

Ability to interact effectively with all people. 

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form 

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 



Qualifications


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 

Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering or related field 

6+ years of experience as a DBA 

3+ years SAP experience as a DBA 

Must be available for after-hours on-call support rotation
