AWS Cloud Solutions Architect / Cloud Engineer

Location: New York City, NY
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote
Duration: 12 Months

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect / Cloud Engineer with extensive experience designing and implementing secure, scalable, and highly available cloud architectures.

The role will focus primarily on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) while also supporting AWS, Azure, and other cloud technologies as part of multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience translating business and technical requirements into enterprise cloud architectures, developing governance frameworks and standards, and guiding engineering teams through cloud implementation and modernization initiatives.

A strong on-premises infrastructure background is essential for supporting hybrid integrations, migrations, and enterprise infrastructure modernization.

Certification
  • Current Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) certification is strongly preferred:
    • OCI Architect Professional, or
    • OCI Architect Associate
  • Candidates should provide certification credentials when available.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop enterprise-grade OCI cloud architectures, standards, frameworks, and governance models.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures.
  • Support multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud architecture initiatives.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, architects, engineering teams, and technical leaders.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering teams and supplement engineering capabilities when required.
  • Develop architecture patterns, reference architectures, and cloud best practices.
  • Support cloud migration and hybrid infrastructure initiatives.
  • Define and maintain cloud governance, security, operational, and architectural standards.
  • Evaluate existing architectures and develop technology roadmaps and recommendations.
  • Support the expansion of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) capabilities.
  • Design highly available and disaster-resilient cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain architecture documentation using Visio, Abacus, or comparable tools.
  • Support cloud networking, security, automation, monitoring, and observability initiatives.
  • Apply cloud cost-management and FinOps principles where appropriate.
  • Support SRE and DevOps practices, including SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and architecture patterns, including AI-enabled solutions.
Required Technical Skills Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • 6–9 years of OCI experience.
  • Strong expertise in OCI architecture, services, governance, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Experience designing enterprise OCI environments.
  • Strong understanding of OCI infrastructure and cloud services.
  • Experience with OCI database and infrastructure platforms.
Other Cloud Platforms

Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:

  • AWS
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Target experience: 1–2 years with each platform where applicable.

Hybrid Infrastructure
  • 4–6 years of hybrid infrastructure experience.
  • Strong understanding of on-premises infrastructure and cloud integrations.
  • Experience supporting cloud migrations and hybrid environments.
  • Strong understanding of servers, operating systems, networking, VLANs, patching, backups, monitoring, and alerts.
Cloud Networking
  • 4–6 years of cloud networking experience.
  • Experience with cloud network architecture and connectivity.
  • Strong understanding of networking, VLANs, routing, security, and hybrid connectivity.
Cloud DevOps & Automation
  • 4–6 years of cloud automation/DevOps experience.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Terraform
    • Ansible
    • API/CLI automation
  • Experience expanding and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code solutions.
