GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Development Lead, the Junior Oracle APEX Developer assists with the development and implementation of the SiloSmashers Business Intelligence solution and facilitates the delivery of data analysis, reporting, and support to end users of the client's data and systems in order to fulfill business objectives.
Specific tasks include data analysis, assessing data needs, database design, data extraction, report design, report development, report testing, and report implementation. A secondary responsibility of this role is to provide support for applications such as the Business Intelligence solution. This individual will use proven analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs analysis and manipulation of source data from Oracle and/or other data structures to populate Business Intelligence data structures that support the business organizations.
  • Assists with implementing reliable and efficient data extraction and automation services.
  • Assists with the design, development, and testing of warehouse and other reports, dashboards, applications, projects, and solutions to meet client needs.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of data structures, queries, and reports.
  • Assists with recommending changes to data structures to support data integrity, reporting accuracy, and acceptable performance.
  • Collaborates with the Development Lead and business analysts to analyze, design, and implement automation, integration, or other improvements that will permit more efficient and accurate reporting or improved data quality from the Data Warehouse or other sources.
  • Supports data integrity, data quality, and audit efforts as needed.
  • Carries out other duties as may be assigned or requested.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • 0-1 year of software development experience. Relevant internships, coursework, academic projects, or personal projects may be considered.
  • Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Computer Science at an accredited college or university, or have completed a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Other majors are acceptable with requisite experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of database development, such as SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Foundational knowledge of Oracle APEX.
  • Foundational knowledge of web-based programming, such as HTML and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with standard business processes and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a small, focused team environment.
