The Sales Data, Analytics, Targeting, and Origination Leader will support the Provider Commercial Office by helping identify, qualify, and advance early-stage growth opportunities across the provider market. This role is designed for a motivated, commercially minded leader who is energized by sales, analytics, and emerging technology. You will have the unique opportunity to think differently about how data, automation, and artificial intelligence can modernize and improve targeting, origination, and sales pipeline creation. You will work closely with Sales Operations, Sales Readiness, Market facing teams (Sales, Account Executives, Business Development, etc.), Product, Marketing, Global Resources, and other key internal stakeholders to connect market insight with both prospect and client needs driving growth strategy across Optum Insight's provider market.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Tech Adoption: Leverage integrate enterprise AI and automation tools into team workflows, set AI goals in development plans, align hiring with emerging tech competencies, and actively remove barriers to accelerate adoption
  • Ethical & Responsible AI Championship: Champion the ethical use of technology and AI by embedding transparency, fairness, data integrity, and accountability throughout the team's research and lead generation lifecycle
  • Strategic AI Optimization: Strategically apply AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics to solve complex targeting challenges, unlock new pipeline opportunities, and deliver tangible commercial value
  • Process Automation & Design: Use enterprise-approved AI and automation tools to streamline business development workflows, automate manual prospecting tasks, and design or deploy AI-powered solutions that optimize targeting and origination efficiency
  • Emerging Trend Evaluation: Proactively evaluate emerging technology and market intelligence trends to inform solutions design, territory planning, and strategic sales innovation
  • Targeting and Market Intelligence: Analyze data from sources such as Analytics Zone, salesforce, Clarivate, Definitive, and proprietary healthcare data platforms to identify high-potential provider prospects, priority accounts, and growth opportunities
  • Lead Generation and Pipeline Qualification: In collaboration with Product and marketing drive top-of-funnel prospecting, outreach campaigns, supporting discovery conversations to assess client needs, timing, and alignment
  • Sales Partnership & CRM Discipline: Partner with Growth Leaders, Sales Executives, Account Executives, Business Development Associates, on pursuit support and relationship mapping; maintain meticulous data quality and CRM hygiene within salesforce to support consistent pipeline reporting

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in sales, business development, sales operations, healthcare clinical, revenue cycle, technology, analytics, or consulting
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing CRM tools (such as salesforce) and market intelligence or data visualization platforms to drive business decisions
  • 3+ years of experience gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing data from multiple sources to create actionable summaries, outreach plans, or business recommendations
  • Intermediate or advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel (pivot tables), PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience utilizing advanced data tools (such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL) for reporting and pipeline analysis
  • Experience utilizing or designing AI-enabled tools, generative AI, automation, or workflow technology to improve research, analysis, and overall team productivity
  • Exposure to healthcare provider operations, revenue cycle management, commercial sales analytics, or health system consulting
  • Demonstrated solid written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to present concise insights and coordinate across highly matrixed organizational structures
  • Creative critical thinking skills with an interest in developing and piloting innovative approaches to modern market targeting and pipeline origination

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $134,600 - $230,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
