The goal of hospice care is to enhance the quality of life by managing pain and symptoms, while also offering emotional, spiritual, and practical support to both patients and their families. Services are typically delivered by a team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, social workers, and chaplains, either at home or in a hospice facility. Optum Hospice focuses on comfort rather than cure, ensuring that patients can spend their final days with dignity and as comfortably as possible.

As an Optum Hospice professional, you will regularly collaborate with a diverse interdisciplinary team that may include physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers. Communication and coordination are key, as you'll participate in team meetings to discuss patient care plans, share updates, and address any evolving needs. This collaborative approach ensures that each patient's care is holistic, responsive, and tailored to their unique situation, while also providing support for family members. Building strong relationships within the team not only enhances patient outcomes but also fosters a supportive work environment.
