Crystal Eyecare is looking for a Front Desk Optometric Assistant to join our team in Cypress, Texas 77429!
SUMMARY: The Front Desk Optometric Assistant serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the optometry office. This role handles patient scheduling, check-in and check-out, insurance verification, and assists with basic optical tasks as needed. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
SCHEDULE:
  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 9 am - 5:30 pm
  • Tuesday and Thursday: 10 am - 6 pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Greet patients, answer phones, and schedule patient appointments.
  • Assist optometrists during eye examinations and procedures.
  • Perform patient intake and document medical histories.
  • Conduct preliminary tests such as visual acuity and tonometry.
  • Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Educate patients on contact lens options and proper usage.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
  • Collaborate with the optical team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry.
  • Ensure proper payments by collecting copays, deductibles, and other patient responsibility accounts receivables.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Experience within the optometry field preferred
  • Experience with HIPAA requirements and in patient care preferred
