Job description

An established healthcare organization is seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join their team. Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to standardized disease management protocols while actively participating in collaboratives and healthcare programs approved by federal and state governments.
  • Ensuring compliance with clinical measures in conjunction with Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives.
  • Completing required documentation and tasks promptly, including electronic health records (EHR) processes, telephone encounters, and payroll sheets.
  • Understanding and complying with the organization's Exposure Control Plan, utilizing universal precautions in the clinical environment.
  • Facilitating referrals for patients requiring additional services not offered on-site, collaborating with care team nurses and referral service representatives.
  • Participating in outreach programs and off-site health initiatives relevant to specialty areas, representing the organization's values within the community.
  • Assisting in the education and training of students as assigned.
  • Reviewing primary care protocols and patient education materials in collaboration with leadership.
  • Providing necessary information for participation in reimbursement programs such as Medicare and Medicaid, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding and billing requirements.
  • Engaging in quality assurance activities, peer reviews, and responding to requests for evaluations of clinical support staff.
  • Reporting pertinent information to leadership regarding patient care and organizational liability.
  • Acting as a resource for medical support staff and encouraging the clinical team.

Benefits:

  • Full-time position or Part-time availability considered
  • Starting at $140,000
  • Up to $20,000 annual bonus potential (distributed quarterly)
  • The comprehensive benefits package is valued at approximately 25% of the salary
  • Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
