Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detailed-oriented and patient-focused Optometric Technician to join our team, providing essential support to our optometrists by conducting patient intake, performing diagnostic tests, and assisting with patient care, ensuring a positive experience for every patient visiting our office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking patient medical history and gathering relevant information

  • Performing basic vision tests like visual acuity measurements

  • Conduct diagnostic tests including retinal imaging, refraction, and tonometry.

  • Assisting with contact lens fittings and patient education on lens care

  • Preparing exam and pretest rooms and sterilizing equipment

  • Maintaining accurate patient records ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines

  • Scheduling appointments and coordinating patient flow to ensure timely and efficient care

  • Provide clerical support, such as answering phones, processing insurance claims, and managing office paperwork.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated, and ability to work under pressure.

  • Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) software and other office technologies (Preferred but not required).
