Summary
As a Product Applications Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful application, performance, and reliability of cable products. You will support Sales and customers by providing expert technical guidance, enabling accurate product selection, and resolving product challenges. This role is critical in driving product quality, supporting manufacturing excellence, and ensuring customer satisfaction by connecting engineering expertise with real-world applications from concept through to production and field use.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to Sales teams and customers by advising on product applications, selecting the correct cable solutions, and resolving product-related issues.
  • Deliver technical assistance to outside sales teams and customers, including support at job sites when required.
  • Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to ensure products meet specifications, troubleshoot quality issues, and support on-time delivery through work order monitoring.
  • Support engineering leadership by ensuring products are manufactured and tested in compliance with industry standards and certification requirements.
  • Contribute to product development by supporting design, configuration, and cost optimization from initial concept through production startup.
  • Maintain accurate product listings and certifications while ensuring compliance with governing product specifications.
  • Manage engineering documentation including test data, engineering drawings, and customer-related certifications such as Certificates of Conformance.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers regarding product specifications, applications, work orders, and technical inquiries.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Engineering degree preferred.
  • 1 year of experience required; 3-5 years preferred.
  • Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology considered an asset.
  • Strong mathematical and computer proficiency.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical specifications within the cable industry.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in wire and cable manufacturing is considered an asset.
