Job description

SUMMARY

Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the sites business goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and respond to signs of malfunctions.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oiling parts, belt replacements, filter cleaning, etc.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults in machinery and equipment.
  • Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major industrial equipment
  • Repair or replace the necessary not functioning or faulty parts, such as gears, bearings, and valves
  • Assist in the installation of new machinery and equipment.
  • Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations as lock-out, electric safety, PPE, etc. And maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Assist with inventory control and spare parts orders.
  • Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities and preparing reports on equipment performance
  • Work with team to optimize machine performance and reduce downtime.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven work as an Industrial Maintenance Technician, hands-on 5 to 10 years experience.
  • Ability to use hand tools and electric testing equipment devises.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Knowable with PLC, Servo motors,
  • Familiar with different types of water pumps as: progressive cavity, Submersible, Jet, Dynamic, Booster, Vertical, Centrifugal,
  • Same experience on welding with Tig, Tig and Arc,
  • Good manual dexterity and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Good communication and team working skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate or associate degree in a technical field is a plus.
  • Equipment installation plumbing, electric rigging.
  • Computer skills
  • English Spanish is a plus
  • High school or vocational school and completion of craft apprenticeship along with related on-the-job experience in production maintenance and manufacturing environments.
  • 7 plus years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Certificates and Licenses: Trade or vocational certifications preferred. Other trade certifications or in-depth experience may be required, (i.e., HVAC/EPA certifications, weights & measures technology and LOTO procedures preferred). Fork truck certification or experience preferred.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Supervisory Responsibility

• No direct employee supervision. May be required to coordinate and oversee work performed by outside contractors. May act as back-up during manager’s absence.

• Depending on site location may coordinate and/or monitor activities of plant bailer as directed by supervisor.

Complexity

• Broad mechanical expertise understanding complex concepts related to troubleshooting and repairing machinery, electrical, hydraulic equipment, properties of metals, welding, and/or piper/plumbing functions required.

• The ability to read and comprehend various diagrams, schematics, technical manuals and mechanical blueprints is required.

• Depending on site location and job duties, knowledge of trade mathematics and machinist handbook formulas in computing and verifying dimensions in the planning, layout out, and final dimensional checking process.

Latitude of Judgment

• Independent equipment troubleshooting is a strong trait needed for this position.

• High degree of interaction and decisions made with employees, customers and vendors regarding equipment intricacies and requirements.

• Minimal guidance and supervision required in daily execution of duties. Decisions outside those required for routine daily maintenance are reviewed by supervisor.

• Expenditures beyond routine maintenance require approval of supervisor.

• In the production environment, the position is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts with occasional exposure to fumes and/or airborne particles.

• May infrequently be exposed to work in high, precarious places, and may be at risk of electrical shock, or exposed to heat and vibration.

• The noise level in the production work environment is usually loud.

• Employees are expected to comply with existing safety procedures including but not limited to proper lifting mechanics, use of protective equipment, lock-out-tag-out, fork lift operation policies, and maintaining a safe work environment

• May be required to supply own mechanic tools depending on site and job duties.
