Job description

Part-Time Dispensing Optician

Russ’ Uptown Optical has been a family owned optical staple in Des Moines since 1978. We are a fun, relaxed optical shop that specializes in providing customers with unique and independent eyewear, high-end optics, and unparalleled customer service. We are in search of a part-time dispensing optician that's outgoing, enthusiastic and has a fun sense of style who loves to be around and work with others.

Duties (not limited to):

  • Dispense, fit, and repair eyewear, as well as assist customers on their eyewear needs
  • Advise customers in finding best fitting eyewear
  • Be knowledgeable on lens designs, and how to best accommodate them for customer’s prescriptions
  • Occasional administrative work, and shop keeping tasks including answering phone calls, light cleaning, etc.

Details and requirements:

  • 2+ years experience required.
  • Hours (roughly) Tu-1-4, Wed 10-4, Fri 10-4
  • Some Saturday hours
  • Closed most major holidays
