Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optical Front Desk and Sales role based in Jacksonville, FL. The position includes greeting and checking in patients, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling phone calls and inquiries. Daily responsibilities also involve assisting customers with frame selection, explaining lens options, processing orders, and completing payments. The team member will coordinate with optometrists and technicians, verify insurance information, and ensure a smooth patient flow throughout the day. Maintaining a clean, organized front desk and optical sales area, and providing friendly, professional service are key aspects of this role.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and team members.
  • Basic sales and retail skills, including product guidance, upselling when appropriate, and handling point-of-sale transactions.
  • Organizational and administrative skills, including appointment scheduling, data entry, and accurate record keeping.
  • Comfort with using computers and practice management or scheduling software; ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Attention to detail and reliability when handling insurance verification, orders, and payments.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and move around the office to assist patients and staff as needed.
  • Prior experience in an optical, medical office, or retail environment is preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in optical or healthcare support is a plus.
