Job description

Summary
Join our lens manufacturing team as a Lens Finishing Technician, inspecting lenses that come from the Surface Department before finish blocking or AR coating. This role is essential to ensuring quality control and precision in our optical lens production process.

Primary Responsibilities
    Spot lenses to check power and prism measurements for accuracy
    Inspect and pad block lenses using specialized blocking equipment
    Operate edging equipment to edge lenses to proper specifications and requirements
    Use buffing equipment to polish lens edges before mounting procedures
    Clean and insert ophthalmic lenses into ophthalmic frames with precision
    Utilize lensometer equipment to check lens attributes against established quality standards
    Verify lens treatments and proper frame alignment against prescription specifications

Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience
Prior experience in optical/lens manufacturing is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided for qualified candidates.

Physical Requirements
    Regularly required to sit and use hands for grasping and manipulation 
    Frequently required to reach with hands and arms 
    Regularly required to walk, stoop, kneel, crawl, and/or crouch 
    Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly 
    Specific vision abilities required including close vision and ability to adjust focus

Safety Requirements
    Understanding of workplace safety programs
    Closed toe shoes and safety glasses when required
    Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts
    Safe tool handling practices
    Moderate to loud noise work environment
