We operate four retail brands: America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses, Eyeglass World, and Vista Opticals inside select Fred Meyer stores and on select military bases. Our optical manufacturing facility is growing and expanding!  We're excited to offer new openings for Maintenance technicians.  The addition of a new shift creates more opportunities at our optical lab for career growth.   

Schedules:  Our FT 2nd shift positions work 3 days/week with 4 days off.  Perfect for those wanting to restructure non-work hours or minimize commutes.  

  • Shift 2A:     Sundays through Tuesdays  (3:30 pm - 4:00 am)
  • Shift 2B:     Wednesdays through Fridays  (3:30 pm - 4:00 am)

Pay & extras:  Competitive base pay (DOE) PLUS 10% shift differential AND extra bi-weekly bonus opportunities.  We also have a generous PTO plan and numerous benefits.

Job Description

Maintenance Technicians are responsible for servicing and maintaining equipment located in the optical lab. 

Principal duties and responsibilities include:

  • Performing Preventative Maintenance on all equipment, maintaining PM checklists
  • Handling work orders to resolve machine issues and minimize production down time
  • Servicing and maintaining Edgers, Generators and Blockers
  • Cleaning, changing parts, performing checks, calibrating
  • Identifying issues and performing repairs
  • Assisting with installations, fabrications, servicing of other equipment and systems in the lab
  • Following all safety measures, "Lock out / Tag out" procedures and utilizing PPE if required
Qualifications
  • No specific education required
  • 1-3 years previous experience in industrial maintenance, diagnosis and repair (electro/mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulics, servo drives, HVAC, etc.)
  • Experience in manufacturing desired, optical industry knowledge a plus but not required
  • Must be able to read and write English
