Key Responsibilities
  • Operation of varying Optical Thin Film coating chambers.
  • Operation of varying metrology devices in support of Thin Film coating development.
  • Maintenance of coating platforms and related documentation and logging.
  • Daily accrual of systems data into Microsoft Excel Tracking Spreadsheets.
  • Evaluation of Thin Film results against modeling software projections utilizing a variety of Thin Film design software suits.
  • Interaction with Development Scientists to comprise daily and long-term planning, assessment of results, and process alterations
  • Some substrate cleaning and inspection
Experiences/Education - Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Optics, Physics, or Engineering field preferred or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Minimum 5 yrs. experience in optical thin films in manufacturing, research, development, engineering or academic.
  • Hands-on knowledge of typical PVD deposition tools and commercial chambers.
  • Working knowledge of thin film characterization and metrology tools.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office applications suite, with a strong knowledge of Excel.
Experiences/Education - Desired
  • Hands-on knowledge of thin-film production from design to manufacturing.
  • Hands-on knowledge of thin film design software.
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuitry for machine problem solving.
  • Experience with Ellipsometry and other optical metrology is a real plus.
  • Knowledge of optical systems from DUV to IR is highly desirable.
  • Absorbing a lot of new information and safely applying it to ever an ever changing, demanding environment is a must.
  • Able to adjust to everyday variability experienced in the Development environment.
  • Maintain developmental plans, accurate documentation of processes, plans, and results.
  • Applicant can report findings to a large audience when required.

The range for this position is $78,274.00 - $107,628.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
