Job description

Title: Quality Engineer
The Quality Engineer shall be responsible for ensuring that the products produced meet quality standards required to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction while ensuring that all quality management system processes are operating effectively.
The duties shall include, but not be limited to the following:
  1. Manage all quality-related issues within the assigned manufacturing teams and associated support departments.
  2. Works with teams to identify root causes and develop/implement effective permanent corrective actions to address product/process quality issues.
  3. Works with stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality & safety standards.
  4. Performs product, process, and system audits as assigned.
  5. Monitors and reports on quality related KPIs including scrap, rework, PPM levels, customer complaints, and non-conformances.
  6. Responsible for leading / managing/ problem solving projects and Corrective Action activities.
  7. Participates in cross-functional teams responsible for the development of new products and processes required to exceed customer expectations.
  8. Demonstrate efficiency in utilizing dimensional inspection tools such as Optical comparator surface plates, gage blocks, Pin gages, Calipers, Micrometers, Thread gages, CMM usage, height gages, and indicators.
  9. Manage and assign internal auditors in day-to-day workloads.

Requirements:
  1. BS Degree in a technical / engineering related field or equivalent experience.
  2. Accepts direction and projects from the Quality Manager and the Director of Quality.
  3. Fosters cooperative and open communication with all personnel and departments.
  4. Proficient with computers; experience with Microsoft Office.
  5. Be able to work effectively in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment.
  6. Engage interest and participation while working collaboratively with others.
  7. Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  8. Demonstrates strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001:2015); experience with APQP, PPAP and DFMEA/PFMEA development.
  9. Demonstrates strong knowledge / application of quality and continuous improvement tools.
  10. Demonstrates the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings, knowledge of GD&T standards a plus.
