Job description

Over the years, Ophthalmology Ltd.'s name has become associated with the highest quality of comprehensive medical and surgical eye care. Ophthalmology Ltd. delivers treatment for cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, as well as cornea transplants, oculoplastic surgery, retina surgery, and vitreoretinal surgery in Sioux Falls. Our "eye only" ambulatory surgery center hosts the region's most experienced comprehensive ophthalmic surgery and subspecialty surgeons.

Ophthalmology Ltd. Eye Surgery Center is currently accepting applications for a full-time Surgical Technologist for our fast-paced eye surgery center. Our ideal candidate demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, surgery center staff, physicians, and the public.

The Surgical Technologist is a key component to the success of the operating room team and works alongside the Ophthalmologist, CRNA's, and nurses to ensure safe, efficient procedures. The surgical technologist is responsible for setting up the operating room suites, intraoperatively anticipating the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies while maintaining a sterile field, and assisting with cleaning and processing instruments.

This position is full-time, Monday through Thursday, approximately 36 hours per week. No call, overnight, or weekend shifts. Occasional requests to add on a Friday morning may occur, but are not common. Certification preferred. Must have completed a Surgical Technology program.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a high-volume surgery center, and the candidate must be professional and able to stay on task while providing quality patient care.
