Job description

Eye Care Associates, PC is a very busy, well-established and growing ophthalmology practice in Middlebury, VT. We are seeking an experienced and dependable ophthalmic technician to join our practice. The ideal candidate will already have experience working as an ophthalmic technician or a surgery scheduler in a medical office.
Candidate will be responsible for patient intake and exam preparation in a comprehensive eye clinic. Candidate will also be responsible for handling all details of surgery scheduling for prospective cataract surgery patients, including coordinating scheduling with the hospital.
Duties will include taking medical histories, entering data into an EHR system, measuring vision/glasses, and performing specialized diagnostic eye testing.
This position involves direct patient care and requires a professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Applicants must be proficient in keyboard/computer use and possess appropriate skills in math, spelling, and medical terminology. Experience in ophthalmic or medical assisting is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who does not have prior experience.
Physical job requirements include good hearing and vision.
This posting is for a 36 hour per week position. We have a generous benefits package, which includes health and dental insurance, and PTO benefit following successful completion of 90-day provisional period. 401(k) benefits are available following successful completion of one year with the practice, including an annual company contribution to each employee's retirement account in addition to each employee's deferred contributions.
$20.00-28.00 per hour commensurate with experience/certification.
