Job Title: Manufacturing OperatorJob Description

Join a dynamic manufacturing team that engineers and produces custom cable assemblies, wiring harnesses, and precision interconnect solutions. As a Manufacturing Operator on the first shift, you will operate a variety of production equipment, assemble high-quality wire harnesses and cable products, and support continuous improvement efforts to meet daily production goals.

Responsibilities
  • Operate wire processing equipment, including wire cutting, stripping, and crimping machines, to produce components according to specifications.
  • Perform wire harness and cable assembly using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and production equipment while following established procedures.
  • Set up and operate semi-automatic and automatic crimping equipment, including performing changeovers and basic machine setup tasks.
  • Operate injection molding machines and perform basic machine monitoring and troubleshooting to maintain consistent production quality.
  • Read and follow work instructions, production schedules, engineering drawings, and blueprints to complete assemblies accurately and on time.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using measuring devices and basic inspection equipment to ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Verify crimp quality, wire routing, connector placement, braiding, and overall assembly accuracy to maintain high reliability of finished products.
  • Maintain production records, complete required documentation, and accurately report output and any issues encountered during the shift.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards, contributing to a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce defects, and increase efficiency.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly with coworkers and leads, and contribute to meeting daily production and quality goals.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 2+ years of electromechanical assembly or machine operation experience.
  • Hands-on experience with wire harness assembly, cable assembly, or related manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in operating crimping machines, wire cutters, wire strippers, and press equipment.
  • Ability to perform crimping, cutting, wiring, and basic machine setup tasks accurately and consistently.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production schedules, engineering drawings, and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to use hand tools, pneumatic tools, measuring devices, and basic inspection equipment safely and effectively.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds as part of daily production activities.
  • Dependable and safety-conscious work habits, with a commitment to following all safety procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, wire harness, or cable assembly experience preferred.
  • Experience operating injection molding machines is a plus.
  • Familiarity with production environments that involve troubleshooting, changeovers, braiding, and machine setup.
  • Comfort working with production documentation and maintaining accurate records.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to keep work areas neat and compliant with safety and quality standards.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift role with typical hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in a manufacturing facility focused on custom cable assemblies, wiring harnesses, and precision interconnect solutions. You will work on and around wire cutting, stripping, and crimping machines, semi-automatic and automatic crimping equipment, press equipment, and injection molding machines. The environment is fast-paced and production-driven, with an emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and organization. Work involves standing for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and lifting up to 35 pounds as needed. Appropriate work attire that supports safety and comfort in a manufacturing setting is expected.

This is a Contract position based out of Irvine, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
