Position Description
This position is key to keeping our communities looking clean all the time. As a cart operator, your job requires you to review the Community daily in a utility cart and focus on the details that make our jobs shine. Such as picking up trash, pruning trees and plants in the walkways and streets, removing weeds and much more.
Summary of training program
Development of our people is key to our success. As a new Cart Operator, you will spend your first 3-4 weeks in our Cart Operator Training Program. This includes working with an onsite crew and Cart Operator Mentor as you learn our safety program, field practices, cart operator duties and company culture.
Pay Range
$16.00-$20.00/hr
Position Requirements
β€’ Ability to work safely and make judgments independently as this person regularly operates in areas of the Community without the rest of the crew
β€’ Attention to detail as you tour your Community taking care of items such as cleaning of barbeques, refilling dog waste bags, changing of trash can liners, picking up signs and sign stakes, removing weeds and trimming back plants and trees
β€’ Recognize, prioritize and communicate significant quality issues with your Foreman, so that they are addressed promptly
The following skills are required
β€’ Active participation and leadership of the SULU safety program
β€’ Reading of a Community map and use of utility cart, hand and power tools
β€’ Ability to organize yourself to achieve the plan for the day and week
β€’ Interact with residents respectfully as you encounter them in the Community
β€’ Remove trash or other unintended items (papers, downed branches, glass, metal, large rocks, etc.) from property
β€’ Must be able to lead by example following DLC's core values (quality, efficiency, safety & teamwork)
Qualifications
β€’ 1-year experience in landscape maintenance
β€’ Operate a utility cart
β€’ Operate small pieces of equipment (i.e. weed eater, blower, power, hand tools, etc.)
β€’ Ability to read and interpret basic property maps
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
β€’ Able to lift 50 lbs. (Equipment, tools, and supplies may need to be lifted, carried and or pushed)
β€’ Able to walk/stand for long periods of time
β€’ Able to reach, bend, twist, kneel, stoop, squat, crouch and grasp along with repetitive movements may part of daily job duties
β€’ Able to work under extreme and often adverse climatic conditions
β€’ Contact with various plants and collected debris
