Job description

Sideworx Connect offers positions for both employees and independent contractors. We specialize in placing short-term and seasonal employees, allowing you control over your schedule and a chance to explore a multitude of projects. We're seeking skilled Heavy Equipment Operators to join our roster that have experience with excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, and other specialized equipment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Inspects equipment to ensure it is in safe operable condition and any servicing has been completed
  • Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner
  • Properly reports any mechanical or safety problems with the equipment in accordance with company procedures
  • Proactively communicate with foreman, superintendent, and coworkers
  • Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required

Qualifications:

  • 2+ Years of Equipment Operating Experience
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a Driver's Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions
  • Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C
  • H2S Alive
  • Common Safety Orientation
  • TDG
  • WHMIS
  • Loader Operator Certification
  • Drug and alcohol testing may be required

Working Conditions:

  • Travel is required and certain jobs may be eligible for Living Out Allowance
  • Exposure to noise, dust, fumes and extreme weather conditions
  • Physically demanding with heavy lifting required (up to 50 lbs)
  • Willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule (including night, weekends, holidays, and overtime)
