Job description

A.C. Moate Industries is seeking an experienced Operations Manager with a strong background in construction, paving, or pavement maintenance operations.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed operator with a proven ability to manage crews, control production, and execute projects at a high level in a fast-paced environment.

You must bring demonstrated experience in paving industry running field operations, leading teams, and delivering consistent results.

Job Responsibilities Operations & Field Execution
  • Oversee and manage daily field operations across paving, sealcoating, concrete, and maintenance projects
  • Lead field crews and enforce productivity, accountability, and performance standards
  • Coordinate daily scheduling, logistics, equipment, and material flow
  • Conduct site visits to ensure job readiness and execution
  • Maintain quality control across all phases of work
  • Identify and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively
Production & Performance
  • Drive production targets and ensure crews are operating efficiently
  • Monitor job progress, timelines, and output
  • Hold team members accountable to performance expectations
  • Build structure and consistency across operations
Project Coordination
  • Work closely with estimators and project managers to execute scope
  • Review plans, specifications, and job requirements
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within scope
  • Communicate effectively between field and office teams
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce all safety standards and jobsite protocols
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction, paving, or heavy civil operations
  • Prior experience in a leadership role (Superintendent, Foreman, or Operations Manager)
  • Proven ability to manage crews, production, and daily operations
  • Strong understanding of construction equipment and jobsite workflow
  • Ability to read plans, specifications, and project scopes
  • Valid driverโ€™s license (CDL preferred)
